The purpose of "sealant"
Sealant is mainly used in three aspects on our doors and Windows.
The first step is to apply adhesive to both the inner and outer surfaces of the frame and wall during installation. This type of adhesive is called thick resistant sealant, which is made of silicone material or thick resistant silicone sealant.
The second part is when we apply glue to aluminum profile doors and windows, we need to apply corner glue and apply it to the corners of the doors and windows.Of course, corner gluing is not for sealing, but mainly to enhance the strength of our entire main frame, which determines the structural stability of your entire frame in the future. Especially the frame of the window sash, after being glued, has a good foundation guarantee for future glass and hardware load-bearing.
The third type of glue is the two types of glue used in the production process of insulating glass. One type is butyl rubber, which serves as a seal to prevent air leakage. Another sealant is used as the second seal. Generally, silicone sealant is used in China, while polysulfide sealant is used abroad.

What is "inferior glue"
The commonly used silicone sealant for home decoration doors and windows is mainly composed of three parts: silicone base polymer, filler, and additive.
Among these three types of materials, the content of organic silicon based polymer is the highest. The content of organic silicon based polymer in high-quality silicone sealant products can reach 50%, and its cost often accounts for more than 75% of the total raw material cost.Due to the high cost of organic silicon based polymer raw materials, there are inferior adhesives replaced by oil injection.
The appearance of oil filled glue and non oil filled glue is no different. Some oil filled glue even has a more shiny appearance, but after actual use, it has been found that the performance of oil filled glue will be greatly reduced. If this oil filled adhesive is used for the sealing of insulating glass, it will cause the sealing butyl rubber on the insulating glass (and other products) to dissolve after a period of use, resulting in the failure of the insulating glass.
Construction details of "sealant"
Before gluing, the foam and dust should be cleaned first. If there are water stains, they need to be air dried, otherwise they will not adhere well and may lead to leakage problems in the later stage.

It takes about 1-2 days for the sealant to dry and harden. During this period, it is necessary to remind on-site construction personnel not to accidentally touch and damage it. If there are subsequent constructions such as tiling and window sills on the outer windowsill, they need to be repaired with adhesive after completion.
In order to prevent water leakage, it is necessary to ensure that the exterior wall adhesive has a smooth and beautiful appearance, increases the visual experience, and avoids the occurrence of random glue application and insufficient leakage.
