First, temperature and humidity are crucial
1. Temperature control
Avoid high-temperature periods: Try not to carry out construction when the surface temperature of the base material exceeds 40℃ (such as metal and glass surfaces exposed to intense sunlight).
Preferred construction periods: Early morning, evening or cloudy days are the best times for construction. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive temperature differences.
2. Humidity management
Pay attention to humidity changes: The relative humidity of the construction environment is best maintained between 40% and 80%. Low humidity will significantly slow down the curing speed and increase the risk of bulging.
Outdoor construction is strictly prohibited on rainy days: Stop outdoor gluing operations on rainy days! Before applying the glue after the rain, make sure to check whether the inside of the joint is damp and there is any residual moisture. Residual water vapor can affect the adhesion between the sealant and the substrate, and even cause bubbling problems.
Second, choosing the right materials is the foundation
1. Observe the displacement capacity
Select products with appropriate displacement capabilities based on the application scenarios. For projects with narrow joints, it is essential to select sealants with a high displacement capacity grade to accommodate the greater thermal expansion and contraction deformation in summer.
2. Check the weather resistance performance
Select silicone sealant with good weather resistance and strong UV resistance to ensure a long service life.
3. Check the environmental protection performance
Choose products that comply with relevant environmental protection standards (such as GB 33372-2020, GB 18583-2008, etc.).

Third, meticulous operation ensures quality
1.Pre-construction test
For single-component silicone sealant, it is recommended to conduct a simple surface drying time test (squeeze a small amount of sealant to observe the time it takes for the surface to form a skin) before applying the sealant to understand its performance under the current temperature and humidity conditions and guide subsequent adjustments and the speed of applying the sealant.
2. Key points during construction
- Lay a solid foundation: The base material should be clean, free of oil stains and dust, and dry is a prerequisite (especially after resuming work after rain).
- Standard operation: The glue injection should be full and continuous, and the trimming should be timely and in place.
Fourth, store properly to prevent deterioration
- The warehouse should be cool: Store in a dry and cool warehouse, and avoid direct sunlight on the colloid.
- Moisture-proof and ventilation: During the rainy season, enhance ventilation. Moisture-proof boards can be laid on the ground or rubber piles can be raised to prevent moisture.
- Sealed storage: Unopened glue: Keep dry and vacuum-sealed. Opened adhesive (such as half tube) : The adhesive at the tube mouth will naturally harden to form a seal. The next time you use it, just pick off or squeeze out the hardened part of the pipe mouth and you can continue to use it. Be sure to use it up in time.
